Medical Student Residence (MSR) Application Process

Completed in June of 2012, the $33 million Medical Student Residence (MSR) at 815 Albany Street is a state-of-the-art, nine-story graduate student residence on the Boston University Medical Campus built primarily to serve the needs of first year medical students. The property contains 104, two-bedroom suites for 208 medical students, each with a full bath and kitchenette. Design reflects the unique living needs of medical students: all units include utilities, furnishings, stove and refrigerator, IPTV, and WiFi.

The monthly rent is $1,300. This will be charged to your student account on the first of every month. The Graduate Residence License Agreement term is 11.5 months, except for students that are continuing to reside for another year. If you are continuing to reside for another year, the term will be 12 months. The Graduate Residence License Agreement starts on August 1, 2024, and ends on July 15, 2025.

For MSR Residents Only

Any request for the termination of the Graduate Residence License Agreement must be submitted in writing to BU Housing at least thirty (30) days in advance of the requested termination date (Licenses may only be terminated on the last day the month). BU Housing will notify Licensee in writing if such request is granted, which decision shall be made in BU Housing’s sole discretion. If this premature License termination results in a loss to the University, the total fee obligations to the University will not exceed two months fees. Failure to vacate the premises on the agreed-upon date will result in an additional $100.00 charge for every day the Licensee remains in residence.
