CRC Graduate Housing Application Process

Graduate housing is available to full-time, degree-seeking Boston University graduate students (students enrolled in certificate programs are not eligible).

By submitting an application, students understand and agree that they will only be eligible to be a licensee of University housing if they are, at the time their license term commences, a registered, full time, student at Boston University. “Registered” shall mean that the University Registrar’s Office has a record that the Licensee has registered in accordance with University policies and procedures as a graduate student at Boston University for the current and all past academic semesters falling partially or wholly within the term of this License. “Full-time” shall mean attendance on a full-time basis as determined by the University’s Registrar. In addition, by submitting an application, students also understand and agree that in the event their license term commences, they will not be permitted to terminate their license agreement upon graduation from the University in the event their graduation date falls prior to the end of the license term.

Returning Resident Same Unit Selection

The same unit selection application is now closed. If you have any questions, please contact us at gradhous@bu.edu

If you are currently a Charles River Campus resident in graduate housing and want to continue to live on campus for another year, you will need to complete a new Graduate Housing Application in the Graduate Housing Portal.

To complete the application, you will need to:

Returning residents only have the option to remain in their same unit.

Residents who declined the university’s furniture last year are required to remove their own furniture and accept the new furniture for the 2024-25 Academic Year.

New to CRC Graduate Housing

The graduate housing application is now operating on a waitlist. You can add your name to the waitlist on Graduate Housing Portal. In the waitlist application, you will be able to indicate your room type preferences. If we have a space to offer you off the waitlist, our office will reach out to you directly to fill out the application and sign the Graduate Residence License Agreement.

If you are, or will be, a full-time, degree-seeking Boston University graduate or professional student, with the exception of MD students, you can apply by completing the Graduate Housing Application in the Graduate Housing Portal.

New CRC Graduate Students will have access to the Graduate Housing Portal up to 48 hours after claiming their BU account. Students should refer to the email from BU IS&T for instruction on how to claim their account.  If students experience trouble with the link they should contact their college or school for assistance.

To complete the application, you will need to:

Applicants will be given the opportunity to select on first-come, first-serve basis, depending on when they filled out the graduate housing application. Graduate units are sold on individual basis, our office does not assign more than one student per unit regardless of room type.

Students will be given the opportunity to select in waves starting in mid-April. Once graduate housing is at full capacity, the application will move to a waitlist. If we have availability for students on the waitlist, our office will directly reach out to them based on when they filled out the application and their preferences.
