Advising

SPH is strongly committed to its students and to helping them achieve their career goals, and a faculty advisor is assigned to each student upon matriculation. Students are encouraged to work with their advisor to identify courses, practicum, and culminating experience options that best fit their career goals. Students should meet with their advisors at least one month before registering for courses each semester. Faculty advisors often serve as valuable points of contact for finding practicum opportunities and for networking to find collaborators and employment post-graduation.

Faculty advisors also assist any student who faces academic challenges while studying at SPH. Students are encouraged to speak with their advisor if they are concerned about their ability to maintain a strong academic standing. Similarly, advisors contact advisee if there is at risk of being placed on academic probation. The role of the faculty advisor is to support students with a learning plan that will facilitate academic success and achievement of career goals.
