Between college and my MSW, I worked as a grant writer, marketer, cocktail server, research assistant, and mindfulness facilitator in roughly that order. I have an English Lit degree that continues to serve me really well. I mention that because many people told me that would not be the case. People occasionally say this about social work, too. If you’re getting the “what are you going to do with that?” question, I’ve been there. Reach out. We can talk about it. (The short answer is – whatever you dang well please).

Now I’m in my second year of BU’s On-Campus MSW program, and I will graduate in May 2022. As I write this, I am grateful to say that I have found work I truly love. Through my advanced year placement, I offer individual and group therapy as a therapist in training. My coursework at BU has allowed me to offer so much to my clients even as a student and trainee starting out. After graduating, I aim to become an LCSW and continue offering individual and group services. I will always be involved in Macro work even as a clinician, because as BUSSW has shown me, individual wellbeing is inherently tied to the social structures, systems, and policies we live in and interact with.

Odds and ends: I moved to Boston in 2019 from the southeast. I love nerding out about all things therapy and social work. I also paint, ride my bicycle to get around town, and have a cat I adore.
