Elise D. Eckelkamp, M.S.W., M.Ed., has been a life-long advocate for youth and families and began her career working in residential care with children and adolescents. Her primary areas of practice include education, child health and welfare, differing abilities, family support, housing, systems change, non-profit leadership, and the development of strategic collaborative partnerships. She has been a teacher, organizer, policy advocate, executive director, trainer, and coach. Eckelkamp has served as a BUSSW field/practicum instructor, faculty advisor, course developer and facilitator, CADER trainer, and student services administrator in the Online Program and Charles River/Boston Campus.  

In addition to her work at BUSSW, Eckelkamp has her own consulting business and works throughout the state with both private and public entities to provide training, community-based project management, and 1:1 coaching and leadership development. She has played pivotal roles in the development of several community-based pilot programs and has a strong emphasis on thoughtful, strategic use of resources to meet the desired goals. Eckelkamp has presented at both local and national level conferences, moderated panels for macro social workers, served on a number of boards, and been involved in multiple fundraising efforts for various mission-based entities.  

Eckelkamp is a graduate of the Boston University Graduate School of Social Work where she earned a Certificate in Human Services Management, and the Graduate School of Education where she specialized in Administration, Training, and Policy. She also holds a BA from Boston College where she studied Psychology and Management.
