- pronouns She/They
I took a long, bumpy, and circuitous route before enrolling in graduate school – involving multiple states, various jobs, and a lot of soul-searching. While I enjoyed the journey (most of the time) I felt something substantial was missing from my day-to-day life. Upon reflection, it was my time spent arranging hospice services and providing live-in care for an ailing family member that made me realize I yearned for a career where I could positively impact others. Social work allows me to help others, to advocate for change, fight against systems of discrimination and oppression, and better communities. I chose to attend BUSSW because the unique Worcester Hybrid Program allows me a more equitable school/work/life balance and because of the University’s dedication to anti-racism and equity. In my spare time I enjoy spending time outside, exercising, baking, and consuming as much art as possible.
