Message from Rob Schadt, Director, Office of Teaching, Learning and Technology:

As you are already aware, beginning in January 2013 BU’s new and improved learning management system will be unveiled and available for faculty and students. You want to go with this system! It is faster and more flexible.

If you have not already done so, request a copy of your previous Blackboard web to a Spring 2013 web or request a new web in Blackboard Learn. To do so, go to www.bu.edu/help/blackboard and choose copy a site or create a blank site. Do this ASAP. The conversion to BB Learn takes some time. Do not wait until right before class. To add TAs to your course, provide their names and BU e-mail addresses and I will add them to the site. You must manually remove users who decide to drop your course.

Also be sure to let your students know how to access the course website (http://learn.bu.edu) or http://blackboard.bu.edu (if for any reason you are using our previous system)

Training sessions are available:

  • Wednesday, January 9th at 10:00 – 11:30 in L1112
  • Thursday, January 10th at 1:00 – 2:30 in L1112

RSVP to rschadt@bu.edu to reserve your seat.

If you have questions about Blackboard, feel free to contact Rob or see the OTLT website for more resources and information, http://sph.bu.edu/otlt
