Please mark your calendars for our next SPH Faculty Luncheon Workshop, Tuesday, September 17th from 12:00-1:30 in the Founders’ Room

Role-play Simulation and Case Teaching in a Global Context

Carl Hobert, Director, Axis of Hope and author of Raising Global IQ: Preparing Our Students for a Shrinking Planet

Carl Hobert is the founder and CEO of Axis of Hope, a Boston-based non-profit working in collaboration with the BU School of Education, dedicated to helping youth develop an understanding of alternative, non-violent approaches to resolving conflicts locally, nationally, and internationally. In this session Carl will share a variety of techniques for case teaching and discuss the process of case development he employs in workshops for teachers to develop more awareness of global competency, including the skills of communication, compromise, compassion, collaboration, and creativity. Through the use of international case examples participants will develop a deeper understanding of the power and efficiency of the case-study approach for improving global education.

Please join us for a look at an innovative approach to promote learning and cultural awareness. Lunch will be served. Please RSVP to reset your seat.

Rob Schadt, EdD

Director, Office of Teaching, Learning and Technology
