Upcoming Featured Events in BUSPH’s ‘Spotlight on Obesity’.
In its first semester, Spotlight on Obesity will integrate the topic of obesity into existing programs and introduce new activities — including a film series moderated by faculty and practitioners — to spur critical analysis and discussion.
The first screening, a segment of the HBO documentary The Weight of the Nation will be facilitated by Jacey Greece, clinical assistant professor of community health sciences and epidemiology.

Spotlight on Obesity Film Series: The Weight of the Nation, Part 1 (Oct. 29, 5-7pm, L110) – Screening of “Consequences,” the first of the four-part award-winning documentary series created by HBO and the Institute of Medicine. Moderated by Jacey Greece, clinical assistant professor of community health sciences and epidemiology.
Food Day (Week of Oct. 24) – To join the nation-wide Food Day movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food, the BUSPH Student Spotlight on Obesity Committee will lead activities such as a community service trip with The Food Project and a photo petition at Student Social #2.

Healthy Holiday Student Potluck (Nov. 7, 5-6pm, Founders Room, Talbot Building) The BUSPH Student Senate Executive Board invites students to share favorite healthy dishes for the first-ever school-wide student potluck dinner.

New Faces in Public Health (Dec. 6) – More than 100 high school students come to BUSPH to experience the practicum poster session and engage in an interactive program centered on obesity and wellness with Nicole Daley, Engaging Men and Boys Program Manager, Boston Public Health Commission.
