- Faculty & Staff
- February 3, 2026
Dear Colleagues,
I’m pleased to share that BUMC Faculty Development & Diversity is currently accepting applications for two campus-wide longitudinal faculty development programs. Both programs will run from October 2026 to June 2027.
The Early Career Faculty Development Program introduces faculty, in the early stages of their academic health sciences career, to the resources available on campus by focusing on an academic project that will help advance their careers. Along with seminars focused on project and academic development, participants will receive peer, senior, and project mentoring and networking.
The Mid-Career Faculty Leadership Program is a year-long professional development program for late Assistant and all Associate Professors on the Boston University Medical Campus. Participants engage in self-reflection and evaluation, and the development of broad peer and senior mentoring networks, strategic leadership skills, and inter-disciplinary collaboration through experiential and project-based learning.
Applications will open on February 9 and close on March 30. More information is available here.
As a reminder, the following SPH faculty development programs are also available to early and mid-career faculty:
- Pilot Awards – current application cycle closes March 2
- Mid-Rank Review Program
- Grant Writing Program
- Faculty Development Seminar Series
We encourage all faculty to discuss professional development opportunities with their department chairs during their upcoming annual review meetings.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.
Sincerely,
Mike McClean, ScD
Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Advancement
