Title: The Environmental Health Department: Past, Present, and Future
Summary: How does a department change in a changing world? Join us for the inaugural 2022-2023 Gijs van Seventer Environmental Health Seminar. This seminar series will be inward-facing with the goals of getting to know one another better to recreate our intellectual community and to provide a space to think deeply about who we are and what types of new faculty would be helpful to grow the department. Lunch will be served for in-person attendees following the seminar presentation. People are welcome to stay after that and enjoy lunch and company.

Title: The Past: EH History
Summary: How does our past influence who we are as a department, and how does this foundation shape our future? Dr. Ozonoff and Dr. White will share from their respective experiences as Chairs of the Environmental Health Department to help us understand the persisting and changing values, priorities and initiatives of the department over the past 40 years. Their remarks will include input from other longstanding department members, including Profs. Boden, Heiger Bernays, Sherr and Webster. A self-reflection of the department and consideration of who we are and how we must change in the changing world of academia must include a hard look at its past, its priorities, and how and why these priorities evolved.

These will be short, unconventional presentations where speakers will share the origin of the projects, challenges and barriers to success, and lessons learned.
Dr. Buonocore and Dr. Kinney will talk about TRECH, followed by Dr. Peters on FAA, Dr Scammell on C-HEAT, and Dr. Levy and Dr. Leibler on CRESSH and the COVID supplement.
