Multicultural Graduation Celebration Honors Graduates’ Leadership
On Friday, May 7, the Students of Color for Public Health, Queer Alliance, and International Students Organization hosted the 4th annual Multicultural Graduation Celebration. The event, held virtually this year, honors the academic and leadership accomplishments of graduating students in underrepresented groups.
The ceremony opened with remarks from Dean Sandro Galea and Craig Andrade, associate dean of practice, and included a keynote address from Monica Onyango, clinical associate professor of global health.
“The uniqueness of each one of us is what brings beauty into the world,” said Onyango in her keynote. “Your identity is your pride. Embrace it and share it with others.”
All graduates received a gift of a graduation cord based on the student organization(s) they are a member of or identify with.
The all-school convocation ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 15.
