Dear Faculty,
As a reminder, we are excited to once again be able to offer a grant writing workshop for SPH faculty members interested in developing a new application for external funding. The workshop is designed so that by the end of the 12-session program, each participant will have completed all scientific sections of the proposal.
Grant writing skills are taught through a combination of lectures, feedback on the faculty member’s proposal, and a mock study section. The workshop will generally follow NIH grant proposal guidelines for R-series grants but faculty planning to apply to other mechanisms (eg K01, foundations) are also welcome to apply.
The workshop will run primarily between May and August. The twelve 2-hour sessions will be in person and likely be held on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons, though the specific days/times will be determined based upon the preferences of workshop participants. Since peer feedback and support are core elements of the program, participants are expected to commit to attending sessions, meeting deadlines, and completing the program.
Applications are due April 25 and may be submitted to Kimberly Nelson (knel@bu.edu).
Sincerely,
Mike McClean, ScD
