Five New Faculty Join SPH.

The School of Public Health welcomes five new faculty members in Fall 2016.

SPH-WelcomeFaculty-Hibberd-SeptemberPatricia Hibberd is the new chair of the Department of Global Health. A physician and epidemiologist, Hibberd comes to SPH from Harvard University, where she was a professor of global health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She has also headed the Division of Global Health in the Department of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital.

SPH-WelcomeFaculty-Ryan-SeptemberCassie Ryan (MPH’03, PhD’16) is a lecturer in the Department of Health Law, Policy & Management. Ryan, who was a teaching associate at SPH while completing her doctorate, previously worked as a registered nurse at Boston Children’s Hospital.

 

SPH-WelcomeFaculty-Stein-SeptemberMichael Stein is the new chair of the Department of Health Law, Policy & Management. A physician and health services researcher focusing on addiction, HIV/AIDS, mental health, and the determinants of risk-taking, he joins SPH from Brown University, where he was a professor of medicine, health services, policy, and practice. He is also an award-winning author of eight books, six of them novels.

SPH-WelcomeFaculty-Trinquart-SeptemberLudovic Trinquart is an assistant professor of biostatistics. Previously he was a biostatistician at Cochrane France and postdoctoral researcher at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM), the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research. Trinquart’s research focuses on survival analysis, clinical trials, evidence synthesis (network meta-analysis), and meta-research.

SPH-WelcomeFaculty-Ulrich-SeptemberMichael Ulrich joins SPH as an assistant professor in the Department of Health Law, Policy & Management, working in the Center for Health Law, Ethics & Human Rights. Ulrich comes to SPH from Yale Law School, and has published articles on the right to water, disability rights, and infectious disease control.
