Pardee School and Center Host 3-Part “World In Flux” Series
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future co-hosted a three-part webinar series titled “World in Flux,” which took place October 2-4, 2020. The series was hosted during Boston University’s 2020 Alumni Weekend and drew on topics from the Pardee Center’s recently concluded video series, “The World After Coronavirus.”
The “World in Flux” series featured panels of Pardee School faculty exploring three broad themes: the future of global politics, the future of global economics, and the future of global values. During each session, panelists addressed questions on the world’s most pressing issues and how to address them, such as: What will China’s rise mean for the rest of the world? Can the retreat of democracy around the world be reversed? How will global multilateralism change in the wake of COVID-19? Will pandemic recovery efforts put the world on a path toward a greener economy? Can rising income inequality be reversed? What will be the future of work and education? How will COVID-19 impact the future of health care?
The events were broadcast live on the Pardee School’s YouTube channel, and the recordings are available to watch below.
