Relational Integration of Psychology and Theology
Relational Integration is a model for interdisciplinary relations between psychology and theology which emphasizes many of our relational spirituality themes – differentiation, attachment, collaboration, formation, humility, intercultural competence, and equitable power relations. We value the recognition of differences between disciplines such as psychology and theology, as well as the potential of bringing scholars and professionals from differing disciplines into healthy interaction and collaboration. This will often involve anxiety and other points of tension that are ubiquitous in human relations, but we believe this can be formative and productive if interdisciplinary processes are shaped by wisdom from spiritual and psychological traditions.
