Psychological Testing
RELIGIOUS ASSESSMENTS
The Danielsen Institute specializes in providing psychological assessments for members of the religious community such as seminarians, theology students, those in preparation for ministry, as well as candidates for ordination and those seeking to join religious orders and/or participate in religious life. These assessments are designed not merely to screen for the existence of mental health difficulties but also to capture some of the following in a comprehensive and balanced way:
- coping mechanisms
- meaning-making capacities
- developmental issues and horizons
- areas of personal and relational strength and vulnerability
Results and recommendations are shared with the client via a thorough feedback session and clinicians remain available for any needed follow-up consultation or discussion regarding the recommendations.
CLERGY-IN-CRISIS ASSESSMENTS
The Danielsen Institute has a specialized team of clinicians who provide extensive psycho-spiritual assessments for clergy facing more acute circumstances in their ministry, including but not limited to:
- burnout
- boundary issues
- interpersonal and organizational conflicts
- mental health crises
The Danielsen team works with the client and the referring body (when appropriate and authorized) through a series of interviews with the client, appropriate denominational leaders, and collateral contacts who know the client well, and through the administration of validated psychological measures. Assessments produce a detailed report and provide specific recommendations regarding the ongoing care and well-being of the referred client, as well as to the organization requesting the assessment.
Results and recommendations are shared with the client via a thorough feedback session and clinicians remain available for any needed follow-up consultation or discussion regarding the recommendations and the progress of their implementation.
