Center for the Study of Religion and Psychology



The Research Center supports the mission of the Danielsen Institute through research at the interface of religion and psychology.  Areas of research include:

  • clinical outcomes research
  • religious, spiritual, and existential issues in psychotherapy
  • the interplay of religion, spirituality, and existential issues with mental health
  • the study of religious and spiritual practices and experience

Research activities include:

  • conducting empirical research studies using quantitative and qualitative methods
  • training doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows in empirical research methods
  • interdisciplinary dialogues and scholarly activities such as symposia and theoretical writings
  • presentations and publications to professional and lay audiences
