Following the guidelines of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, your Boston University transcript provides a comprehensive academic record that reflects all BU academic coursework completed, degrees awarded, and credit earned by examination, as well as credit for courses that were transferred from other institutions.

View Grades & GPA for an explanation of BU’s grading scale; grades for courses taken at other institutions are not listed on your BU transcript, and are provided by the institution at which those courses were completed. Grades for courses taken at other institutions are not calculated into a student’s Boston University GPA.

Boston University transcripts include a cumulative GPA reflective of a student’s entire academic record.  A BU transcript cannot be separated to exclusively display either undergraduate or graduate work.  It can also not be amended to display a major GPA or a cumulative GPA excluding non-degree coursework.

Transcripts will not be released if there is outstanding financial obligation to the University.

Official transcripts for all schools (except LAWMED/MD program, and SDM) are produced by the Office of the University Registrar, and can only be requested by the student of record (requests from any third party will not be accepted). Transcripts for GMS students are produced by the Office of the University Registrar.

From the Student Link you can view and print your semester grades, as well as a transcript preview.

If you would prefer to pick up an official copy of your transcript, you may stop by our office and make the request in person; valid photo identification is required. In most cases, an official transcript can be produced immediately. It may, however, take as long as 48 hours to produce transcripts for students who attended Boston University prior to 1986. Transcripts are $8 per official copy, payable by cash, check, money order, or Credit/Debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express).

If planning to pick up your transcript in person, please do not place an order online in advance of coming to our office.

Boston University has now partnered with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) to accept the electronic delivery of official Boston University transcripts. This option allows students to input their AAMC ID and AAMC Transcript ID numbers into our ordering system and submit their transcripts directly to AMCAS without having to upload an additional cover sheet.

To take advantage of this ordering option, you will need to select the eTranscript-AMCAS option after following the steps to create/login our transcript ordering page. eTranscript-AMCAS cost $8 per copy, payable online by credit card only.
