16-Credit Certificate Programs

Wheelock offers graduate-level, non-degree certificates in different program areas. To view information on these certificates, please visit the Professional Development section of our website.

If you would like to enroll in a non-degree, 16-credit certificate program, please review the information below. You may begin a certificate program during the summer, fall, or spring terms. Please note, the summer term is divided into two terms: Summer 1 and Summer 2.

All 16-credit certificate programs are considered to be graduate-level programs of study. In order to be eligible for a certificate program, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or an international equivalent from an accredited institution prior to enrollment. Because these are non-degree programs of study, they do not offer student visa sponsorship. Consequently, international citizens may only apply for these programs if they already possess an immigration status allowing them to study in the United States.

Non-degree Student Registration

To register for individual courses as a non-degree student, contact the Student Records Office at 617-353-4235 or sedstu@bu.edu. A registration form is required for all non-degree registration. No application is needed to register as a non-matriculated student at the Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Please note: should you later be admitted into a degree-granting program, up to 8 credits of non-degree coursework can be transferred to the program.
