Parking permits are managed through BU’s new Transportation Management Portal (TMP) where you can order parking permits, update vehicle information, and pay or appeal parking citations.
All CRC permits are virtual:
Permit holders no longer have to “pick up a parking permit” or display a permit in their vehicle’s window. We no longer issue physical permits. Our new license plate-based system uses License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras to grant or deny access to major lots and garages. LPR cameras mounted on our enforcement vehicles help patrol smaller lots and alleyways to make sure everyone has permits.
Tips for using your Virtual Permit
– Your BU ID is your backup credential if the system is unable to read your license plate. You may need to “tap” it on the kiosk to enter or exit. BU IDs that have not been replaced since 2012 do not have proximity capability and should be replaced in order to be used as a secondary credential for entry or exit.
– Make sure your information is correct. The new system may not allow you to park if your license plate information on file with PTS is incorrect or out-of-date. Take care when entering license plate information into the Transportation Management Portal and be sure to update vehicle information through the portal if any information changes.
– Having trouble entering or exiting a lot? Press the “assistance” button on the kiosk and someone will get you on your way.
Using the Transportation Management Portal is easy:
