CSE Hosts First Boston Ukrainian Festival & Independence Day Celebration

On August 27, 2022, the Center for the Study of Europe (CSE), an affiliated center of Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, hosted Boston’s first Ukrainian festival and Independence Day celebration in support of the country in crisis.
The event was co-organized by CSE, Sky Philanthropy, and the Sky International Center. Hundreds of patrons gathered and partook in Ukrainian music, food, and traditional celebrations. The festival also served as a sign of solidarity for the country still under siege by Russian forces. All proceeds from the festival were donated to charitable organizations helping Ukrainians in need; one such project donated to includes a children’s hospital and rehabilitation center in Kyiv.
The festival was the subject of a 7News Boston WHDH news report, which can be viewed on the station’s website.
The mission of the Center for the Study of Europe is to promote understanding of Europe through its cultural heritage; its political, economic, and religious histories; its art, literature, music, and philosophy; as well as through its recent emergence as a new kind of international form through the European Union (EU).
