Heine Interviewed on New Book and Active Non-Alignment Doctrine

Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, discussed his latest book El No Alineamiento Activo y América Latina: una doctrina para el nuevo siglo (Active Non-Alignment and Latin America: A Doctrine for the New Century) in interviews on both teleSUR tv and Panamá En Directo.

In his comments, Heine elaborates on the meaning of the Active Non-Alignment doctrine and why it is so relevant for Latin America and its foreign policies today. He also discusses why the book has struck such a chord, as it provides a response to the deep crisis in which Latin America finds itself – the most serious one in 120 years, according to the United Nation’s Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
