On Sunday, October 3, 2021, the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University welcomed back the Class of 2020 for a special Recognition Ceremony.

In-person commencement for the Class of 2020 had previously been postponed due to COVID-19; however, BU rescheduled the ceremony to coincide with Alumni Weekend 2021 in order to bring the community back together and finally celebrate last year’s graduates in the manner they deserved.

During the Pardee School Recognition Ceremony, Dean Najam welcomed back returning graduates, recognized the unique and challenging nature of their final academic year, and offered words of encouragement in his Dean’s Charge. The achievements of some of the Class of 2020’s brightest and most talented students were then honored with the presentation of multiple academic awards. Dean Najam also presented awards to two Pardee School faculty for excellence in advancing the mission of the school. Following the award presentations, all graduates were finally able to walk across the stage and be recognized for their academic achievements.
