Najam Interviewed on COVID-19 and Human Security
Dean Adil Najam of the Pardee School of Global Studies was interviewed by multiple television news programs in Pakistan on the the efforts to combat COVID-19 in Pakistan and in USA. He also suggested that taking a human security perspective to the coronavirus crisis is the right approach.
Najam argued that the COVID-19 situation is the biggest security threat that the world has seen in current times, and it has found the security apparatus totally lacking. “We find that we are very well equipped – too well equipped – to fight each other; but are negligently ill-equipped to fight disease or secure human well-being,” he said.
Najam was interviewed on Dawn TV’s program NewsWise on April 3, 2020, and on Express News TV’s show The Review on April 4, 2020.
