Your BU Login name and Kerberos password is required for almost any online computer resource on campus. It is tied to your email account but also gives you access to online grading, course web tools, and the Faculty Link (which includes class schedules, lists, textbook information, and final exam schedules).
Many Metropolitan College faculty members already have an email address and do not want a BU email account. In this case, please create your account anyway and then set up message forwarding.
If you are new to Boston University you you will receive instructions on how to apply for a BU email address in the Onboarding email from Human Resources, as well as instructions on how to start the I-9 verification process. You will then need to meet with Human Resources to finalize your I-9 documents. The HR representative will also be able to help you with your account and issue you a Terrier ID card.
To set up email forwarding to another email address, such as Gmail:
- Visit the message forwarding page
- Follow the appropriate links to set up your forwarding specifications
