Thank you for your interest in hiring students and alumni of Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET). We are pleased to assist you in meeting your recruiting needs.

“Handshake” is our online system for job and internship listings, exclusively for BU undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. Handshake offers employers a convenient method, free of charge, for posting full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities.

Employers can quickly and easily post jobs and can also choose to receive online applications directly from the system with current candidate résumés attached. Here are some quick, easy steps to guide you on how to set up an employer account and post an opportunity.

Employer Account Set-Up:

  1. Go to the Handshake Employer site to enter your individual company email address and create a password. Click “Sign Up” and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation email asking you to confirm your account. Be sure to check your junk folder if you do not see the email in your Inbox.
  2. Upon confirming your account by clicking on the sent link, you will see a Handshake welcome page. Click “Continue” to enter your search parameters.
  3. Search for “Boston University” to recruit candidates from BU schools, including Metropolitan College. Click the “Request to Connect” button and follow the prompts. You will be asked to enter your company name to find your company. Click “Join Company.”
  4. If you do not see your company, you may be the first employee from your company to join Handshake. Instructions will be provided to help you create a Handshake Profile for your company.
  5. Once you receive your organizational approval, you can login and post opportunities for Boston University, including BU MET students and alumni.
