Emma  Chuo

Questrom’29  Business Administration: Information Systems & Strategy

Hi! :) My name is Emma Chuo (she/her). I’m from Taipei, Taiwan, and I’m in the Class of 2029, studying Business Administration and Environmental Policy & Analysis! I’m passionate about creating social impact at the intersection of development economics, environmental sustainability, and political philosophy, and outside of academics, you’ll always catch me producing music, jamming with my rock band, or going on little food hunts around Boston with friends.

I was drawn to Kilachand because of its interdisciplinary curriculum, but I have continued to explore these interests beyond the classroom too! At BU, I am involved with nonprofit consulting at 180 Degrees Consulting, community service with the Questrom Student Government, and Innovate@BU, where I am currently working on a startup supporting immigrant local businesses. I also arrange music for my R&B acapella group Bassline, where I’ve met some of my closest friends, and we perform frequently at different events in school and around Boston, which is always a ton of fun. This semester, I also received an opportunity from my Kilachand professor to conduct ecological economics research, which I’m super excited about!

On that note, in and outside the classroom, Kilachand has been such an integral part of my college experience. More importantly, it has brought me to such an awesome community of people whom I can talk to about highly academic pursuits, but also be silly around. I’m so excited to be a Kilachand Ambassador, and I look forward to everything Kilachand has to offer!
