Humanities Division Outcomes

Students who complete the humanities courses will be able to

  1. Write and speak knowledgeably about the major periods of literature, visual art, and ethical philosophy from the ancient world to the 21st century.
  2. Understand and explain how cultural and intellectual traditions have been inherited and reimagined through time.
  3. Read and understand major works of literature and philosophical ethics, with a particular emphasis on historical, thematic, and formal developments in expression.
  4. Be articulate participants in discussion and debate about literature, art, and philosophy.
