Lessons from the Holocaust

In “The Nowy Dwor Project: Lessons from the Holocaust,” David Wluka (’66, CAS’68, GRS’70) will share the powerful story of his journey to Poland with his father, who survived Auschwitz, and reclaiming his family’s past. Wluka will be introduced by Hana Kraus (’20). This event is cosponsored by the Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies.

The College of General Studies and the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center will be hosting author, historian, and New Yorker writer Jill Lepore for a conversation on election politics. Lepore is the author of These Truths: A History of the United States (W. W. Norton & Company, 2018), The Secret History of Wonder Woman (Knopf, 2014), and many other titles. She writes about American history, law, literature, and politics.

Join the Poetry Reading Series for a night of poetry with Alan Gillis and David Wheatley. Alan Gillis teaches English literature at the University of Edinburgh and is the coeditor of The Oxford Handbook of Modern Irish Poetry (Oxford University Press, 2012). David Wheatley is the author of Contemporary British Poetry (Red Globe Press, 2014) and four poetry collections with Gallery Press, including A Nest on the Waves (2010).
