Alumni Digest & Bostonia Extra
The Engagement Communications team sends out two bi-weekly all-alumni newsletters: the Alumni Digest (previously StreamBU) and Bostonia Extra. The Alumni Digest is curated, built, and distributed by the Engagement Communications team and released every other Monday. The newsletter highlights upcoming events, trending articles, and other relevant initiatives from Advancement.
On the other hand, Bostonia Extra is curated and built by MarCom and distributed by the Engagement Communications team every other Friday. The Extra showcases articles from BU Today, Brink, and Bostonia. In collaboration with MarCom, the Engagement Communications team provides three event listings and an advertisement at the bottom of the Extra email.
To be featured in either the Alumni Digest and/or Bostonia Extra, your events must be listed on the events calendar. If you’d like to promote something that is not an event, please email Samantha Cohen at cohensam@bu.edu.

BU logos
- University Plate: The University plate is the official logo of Boston University. It should be used on all external communications and any internal communications that need a more formal approach.
- Sub-brand Signature: The sub-brand signature is a combination of the BU icon and one or more sub-brand logotypes. It is intended for internal use within the BU community (i.e. students, alumni, staff, and faculty). It should not be used for formal external communications and should not appear on the same printed page with the University plate.
- Sub-brand Logotype: The sub-brand logotype is used to identify individual schools, colleges, or other entities. It should be used in combination with the University plate on internal communications that require a more formal approach.
- University Seal: The Boston University seal is used for only the most formal occasions, appearing on University diplomas, formal invitations, and ceremonial documents deemed appropriate by the Office of the President. It is not downloadable and may not be used as a graphic element without permission from Marketing & Communications.
