The CAS Writing Program communications interns work with a small team of Writing Program faculty and staff to create content for the Writing Programs social media accounts and other graphic design projects like event posters and informational signs. They also have a role in generating content for digital newsletters, website features, and other communications about the Writing Program to reach various audiences across the university.
Strong candidates for this position will be clear communicators and have experience with graphic design and video editing tools, particularly Canva and the Adobe Creative suite. They must also be able to work independently, collaborate effectively with others, meet deadlines reliably, and respond efficiently to work-related messages. Students must have completed at least one, and ideally two, years of coursework at BU to apply.
The Writing Program seeks to hire students who reflect the larger diversity of BU’s student population. We are particularly eager for BIPOC, multilingual, international, and first-generation students to apply, as well as students with other underrepresented or marginalized identities.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, the names & email addresses of two references, and a sample of your graphic design work to Jacob Burg, Associate Director for the Writing Center, at burg@bu.edu by August 22. Top candidates will be asked to interview for the position in late August, and then begin working in Fall 2025.
