Upcoming Events
- The Writing Center’s Topic Development workshop will be held on February 10 from 2:30-3:30pm. The purpose of this workshop is to help students develop their research topics and questions. WR 15x students are encouraged to attend.
- The Word Puzzle Marathon is happening on March 5 from 3:30-5:00pm. During this fun opportunity to destress right before Spring Break, we’ll offer riffs on popular digital word games (e.g. Wordle and Connections), with the potential for prizes for the winners. All WR students are invited.
- Attend this semester’s Hidden Statements workshop on March 20.
Learn to deepen your arguments, particularly by uncovering the “hidden” ideas you’ve left unsaid or have assumed need no further explanation. WR15x students are encouraged to attend.
- BU’s Clues: April Fool’s Edition is happening on April 1. Back by popular demand! Similar to last semester’s events, we will use the April Fool’s opportunity to give students practice with important information literacy skills and methods, like SIFT. This scavenger hunt-style event will likely feature prizes for the winners. All WR students are invited.
- The Writing for Self-Care workshop will take place on April 11. This will be an opportunity to relax and (re)appreciate the many ways that writing can improve your mental health, particularly during a stressful point in the semester. All WR students are invited.
- A Peer Review Practice workshop will be held on April 16. The purpose of this workshop is to guide students through best practices for peer review, with a particular focus on reading strategies and providing peers with actionable feedback for all types of assignments, including alternative genre work like short stories, podcasts, and other creative work. All WR students are invited.
