The CAS Writing Center strives to enhance the collaborative work done in writing classrooms by creating a space for students to work together to hone their writing skills and develop confidence in their own voices. In addition to empowering students to make informed decisions about their own writing through dialogue with experienced and supportive peers, the Writing Center serves as a space of empathy and encouragement as students navigate the challenges of college writing.
The Writing Center strives to provide thoughtful and compassionate support to all BU students, including multilingual and BIPOC students, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation students, and disabled and neurodivergent students. We are also committed to continuing to expand the diversity of our student staff. We encourage students with identities and backgrounds that have been historically marginalized in academic spaces to apply for undergraduate and graduate consultant positions.
We welcome feedback from students who use the Writing Center to ensure our services are inclusive and accessible for all BU students. You are welcome to contact the Writing Center administrative team at writing@bu.edu if you have anything you would like to share.
