Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – Myths and Misunderstandings
Tuesday, May 6, 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm Register on Zoom
Presented by Dr. Samuel Skeen, Psy.D. (he, him)
In this presentation, Dr. Skeen will dispel common myths about obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and provide a clearer, evidence-based understanding of the condition. Using real-world case studies, the presentation will illustrate the lived experience of OCD and highlight effective, research-supported treatment approaches.
Dr. Skeen completed his undergraduate degree at Goucher College, with a major in psychology, and his Psy.D. in clinical psychology at the William James College (formerly MSPP). After graduating, he had two years of post-doctoral training at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates (HVMA). He subsequently worked as a staff psychologist at HVMA for several years, developing specialties in treating anxiety, OCD, and substance abuse. Dr. Skeen currently works in private practice in Back Bay, focusing primarily on treating OCD and other anxiety disorders.

Mindfulness Practice Monday May 19, 4:00 to 4:30 pm Register on Zoom

Take a mindful pause with this guided session focused on the breath. We’ll explore a simple breathing exercise to help calm the mind, release tension, and reconnect with the present moment. No experience needed—just bring yourself, your breath, and a little space to slow down.
Care Without Collapse: Supporting Mental Health in Uncertain Times
