Summer Challenge: Tuition & Payment
The 2025 session of Summer Challenge was a great success. Please check back on December 15 for details about next summer’s program and to submit an application. Sign up for an email reminder.
In summer 2025, the total charge for a residential student enrolled in the Summer Challenge program was $4,860. Summer 2026 program charges will be posted on December 15.
The total charge for Summer Challenge includes tuition, housing, and all meals in the dining hall. It also includes textbooks and all sponsored activities during the two-week program. A nonrefundable deposit (applied to tuition) is required once you commit to attending Summer Challenge in order to secure your place in the program.
The application fee and spending money are not included in the total charge. You may also purchase a two-week membership to BU’s Fitness & Recreation Center for an additional fee when you arrive on campus.
A fee is added to your account for each Student Health Services visit.
There is no financial aid available for the Summer Challenge program.
Note: Application fees and tuition deposits are nonrefundable. No refund or reduction in the total charge will be made for a student who arrives to the program late, leaves the program early, or is dismissed from the program due to a violation of the program guidelines.
Scholarship Opportunities
The Scott Simenas Award Fund provides an annual scholarship award and stipend, based on need, to one or more students enrolled in the Summer Challenge program with a preference for students from Boston Public High Schools.
Payment deadline
The payment deadline is indicated in your offer of admission. Full payment not received by the deadline may result in the cancellation of your enrollment and the forfeit of your selected seminars.
