Community Health Holds First Service Day.

The Department of Community Health Sciences held its first faculty and staff service day on May 24 at the Greater Boston Food Bank.
The 28 volunteers spent the morning sorting and boxing 8,820 pounds of food, adding up to 7,350 meals.
“To say it was a personally fulfilling experience would be an understatement,” says Karen Smith, department and financial manager for community health sciences.
“We not only helped to serve an impressive organization that has real impact, but also got to work together as a team in a way that our day to day jobs doesn’t normally allow for,” says Deric Topp, assistant director of Community Health Sciences’ BNI ART Institute.
The Department of Global Health held their service day on May 19, volunteering with the meal-delivery organization Community Servings.
