What to Do: Room is Locked or Occupied
If your Reserved Location is Locked
If you arrive at the reserved location for your event or meeting and find that it is locked, you can call the Facilities Management Operations Service Center at 617-353-2105 and request that a custodian be sent to unlock the location for you.
Be prepared to provide the following information:
- Your name
- Location room number
- Street address of location
If someone is in your Reserved Location
If you arrive at the reserved location for your event or meeting and find someone else in there telling you that they have the location reserved, follow these steps:
- Provide a printed copy of your reservation event confirmation from 25Live that proves you have the location reserved for that date and time, or pull up 25Live on your mobile device and find your reservation. This guide will show you how to find your event reservation in 25Live.
- Once you’ve determined the location is reserved for you, ask the person to leave.
- If the person refuses to leave, call BU Police at 617-353-2110 and ask for officer assistance due to someone refusing to leave a location you have reserved.
Follow-Up: If your reservation is in an academic classroom/auditorium or event location managed by Events & Conferences, please report the incident to us as soon as possible so we can follow up with the offending person. Email roomres@bu.edu with the following information:
- Date and time of the incident
- Location room number or name
- Contact information for the person who refused to leave the room:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Name of event, or name and class code for an academic class
- Whether or not the person actually left the room or if you had to delay or cancel your event
