Blockchain technologies currently underpin a rapidly maturing asset class valued at approximately $2.5 trillion, rivaling major traditional financial sectors. However, this emerging technology also raises profound societal concerns regarding governance, regulation, data integrity, and financial crime.
This Research on Tap will explore fundamental advancements in blockchain technology, specifically focusing on privacy, security, and performance by bringing together faculty and researchers from across BU schools and disciplines. It will also examine the practical impacts of these developments across the financial sector, law and regulation, business, healthcare, and broader society.
