BUCSA Hosts Spring 2017 Reception
The Center for the Study of Asia (BUCSA), an affiliated regional center of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, hosted their annual Spring Reception on April 26, 2017 at 121 Bay State Road.
The event provided the opportunity for the Center to celebrate the end of a wonderful year of working together, present news of new honors and publications and discuss plans for the future. The reception was also aimed at furthering the sense of community among students and faculty at the Center.
Catherine Yeh, Director of the Center for the Study of Asia, and Robert Murowchick, Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Asia, both welcomed students and faculty at the reception.
“I want to thank everyone for a very productive and collegial year,” Yeh said. “A hard year, but a happy year. We have worked so hard together, and this Asian Studies community is growing.”
The mission of the Boston University Center for the Study of Asia (BUCSA) is to promote comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and cross-national understanding of Asia at Boston University. Operationally, it provides a focal point and institutional support for the study of Asia across Boston University through coordination of teaching missions, support of research, community-building among faculty and students, and outreach beyond the university.
