Continued Dedication in Pardee School’s Second Magazine Issue
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies is pleased to present the second issue of the Pardee Magazine. Building on last year’s inaugural edition, this issue reflects the school’s enduring commitment to rigorous, interdisciplinary, problem-driven research and education focused on the world’s most pressing challenges. Guided by a growing community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners, the magazine looks forward toward lasting peace, effective development, and knowledge that advances human progress.

This edition opens with a key milestone for the Center for Latin American Studies, followed by updates on the recent honors and publications of the Pardee faculty. In the cover story – Pardee Adapts to a Changing World – readers hear directly from Dean Scott Taylor, professors Vesko Garčević, Rachel Brulé, Paul Webster Hare, Kevin Gallagher, Jessica Stern, Dean Emeritus Adil Najam, and former Ambassador to the Republic of Mali, Mary Beth Leonard, on how they remain steadfast in their approaches to both research and teaching amidst recent political, economic, and global change.
Featured stories highlight the programs, events, and initiatives that brought together students, faculty, alumni, the BU community, and beyond. The issue is rounded out with perspectives from Pardee alumni as they step into positions of leadership, student mentorship, and reflect on careers in publishing, engineering, housing, trade, and homeland security.
