Goldstein Discusses British Royal Family with La Razón

On February 23, 2021, Erik Goldstein, Professor of International Relations and History at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed by La Razón on the future of the British crown.

The article in which Goldstein is featured, titled “El príncipe Carlos se ha preparado toda su vida para ser el rey de Inglaterra (“Prince Charles has prepared all his life to be the King of England”), opens discussing the health of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who was recently admitted to the hospital. In his interview, Goldstein discussed the state of the royal family – scandal’s and all – as well as the possible reign of Prince Charles.

An excerpt:

Prince Charles remains the eternal heir to the British throne at 72 years of age. Does he believe that he will become king one day?

A previous Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, was reported to have said that ‘Most people pray to the Eternal Father, but I am the only one afflicted with an Eternal Mother.’ Charles has prepared all his life for the role, and no doubt will be ready to assume the role.

The full interview can be read on La Razón’s website.
