Goldstein Interviewed on Brexit & the Future of Scotland in the UK

On January 1, 2021, Erik Goldstein, Professor of International Relations and History at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed by La Razon on Brexit and the future of the United Kingdom (UK).
In the interview, Goldstein commented on the uncertainty surrounding the UK-European Union relationship, Prime Minister Borris Johnson’s handling of the EU trade deal, as well as the future of Scotland as part of the UK. As Goldstein notes in the interview, the future of Scotland and the UL will be the next big problem facing the London government.
An excerpt:
The SNP has every reason to seize this moment to attempt another vote on independence. The new leader of the Labor Party (Keir Starmer) has recently proposed as a compromise the possibility as a third option of “maximum return,” to be included in any future referendum. This might be the only way a complete split is avoided.
