PGC Hosts Hoyt Brian Yee for Breakfast with Students

The Pardee Graduate Council (PGC), the official graduate student organization of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, hosted a discussion with Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt Brian Yee on November 15, 2019.

Yee discussed his extensive career in foreign service over bagels and coffee. Students were able to learn about different paths in foreign service and ask questions about current events in Central Europe and Asia. Yee spoke extensively about European leadership and the efficiency of Russia to influence politics globally. Additionally, he discussed the changing global landscape and how the rules of the “game,” are being redrawn because of it.

Hoyt Brian Yee is currently a member of the U.S. Senior Foreign service in Washington D.C. He is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, working on U.S. relations with Central European and South Central Europe.

The PGC organizes a variety of activities aimed at enriching graduate student life at the Pardee School including discussions with Pardee School faculty, film screenings and social events. Most recently, the PGC organized a “Kindness Week” at the Pardee School to encourage small and large acts of kindness around campus.
