William Keylor, Professor of International Relations and History at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was recently interviewed on the assassination of Ambassador Andrei Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Turkey, by an off-duty Turkish police officer and how the attack will affect relations between Russia and Turkey.

Keylor was interviewed for a December 20, 2016 article in The Boston Herald entitled “Turk Kills Russian Envoy.”

From the text of the article:

The probe’s results could determine the incident’s impact on Turkish-Russian ties, said Bill Keylor, a Boston University professor of international relations.

“If he was just a lone wolf who was expressing his own rage about the destruction of Aleppo, that’s one thing. I can’t imagine the Russian government will have any justification for moving against Turkey,” Keylor said. “On the other hand, if it turns out there was some group within the Turkish government that promoted this — though at this point, it’s something I highly doubt — that would be a problem.”
