Schmidt on WBUR: Europe’s Refugees

Vivien Schmidt, Professor of International Relations and Political Science at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, spoke about the plight of Europe’s refugees in a discussion about the possible collapse of the Schengen open-borders system.

Schmidt contributed her insights in a Jan. 27 interview on WBUR’s On Point with Tom Ashbrook. The segment was entitled Europe’s Open Borders Under Pressure,” which Schmidt, Ashbrook, and journalists Ryan Heath and Tom Nuttall.

Schmidt is the Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Europe, one of the affiliated regional studies centers of the Pardee School. She is also the Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration. Her research focuses on European political economy, institutions, democracy, and political theory. Learn more about her here.
