Vote in GIRC Elections 1/27!
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University is holding elections for the 2015/2016 Graduate International Relations Student Council executive board.
The elections will be on Jan. 27 at 5:15 p.m. at 121 Bay State Road. They will be followed by the Spring Semester Pizza Party.
The Graduate International Relations Student Council (GIRC) is the official graduate student organization of the Pardee School. This vibrant student group organizes a variety of activities to enrich students’ lives, including dinners with faculty members and social events. Past events have included discussions, film nights, and catered receptions.
Each year in the spring semester, the GIRC organizes a graduate student conference, centered around a theme chosen by the students. The conference draws graduate students from the many colleges and universities throughout the Boston area and beyond.
This year’s conference is entitled “Global Development, Peace and Security: Advancing Human Progress.” It will be held Feb. 27 – 28. The previous GIRC executive board will collaborate with elected officers on the conference.
The positions up for election are as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, GSO Liaison and Member at Large. More information can be obtained via email.
To run for a GIRC office or get more information, please send an email with your name, the position you are running for and a short description of your professional background to Kenneth Rayner (outgoing president) at rayner@bu.edu. Nominations will also be taken from the floor at the election.
All first year Pardee graduate students are encouraged to run! For more information, follow GIRC on Facebook.
