What motivated you to earn your master’s degree at this point? Why did you choose to fulfill your goal at Metropolitan College?
I had the privilege of being born and raised in the vibrant city of Beirut, Lebanon, where I have always been deeply aware of the pressing importance of implementing robust risk management responses and techniques in my country. However, a pivotal moment that fueled my determination to pursue a master’s degree and delve deeper into this field was the catastrophic event of August 4, 2020, when the devastating Beirut blast shook our nation to its core.

Congratulations on your high achievement in the Enterprise Risk Management program and your Award for Excellence in your studies! Looking back, what do you consider to be the main ingredients of your success?
Thank you! I believe being passionate about what I was studying was the main driver for me. I was constantly seeking opportunities to grow and improve my skills and knowledge. Moreover, effective time management was crucial in balancing the demands of the program with my other responsibilities and personal life. That being said, setting clear goals and objectives throughout this journey boosted my motivation and determination to keep going and celebrate key milestones.

How were you able to successfully balance your studies with your commitments outside the classroom?
Balancing my studies with commitments outside the classroom was a challenging yet rewarding experience. I approached this by implementing effective time management strategies, setting clear priorities, and establishing a well-structured schedule. Moreover, I actively communicated with my professors and peers, seeking guidance when needed.

Can you share any examples of skills, principles, or practices learned in the program that you are currently able to apply to your job?
In today’s technologically interconnected world, cybersecurity has emerged as a paramount concern for companies across all industries. Proactive and comprehensive cybersecurity measures are indispensable in safeguarding a company’s assets, ensuring uninterrupted operations, and reinforcing trust in the digital age. This has been a major topic in the ERM program at BU, as well as something I had to deeply understand and apply in my job.

You were recognized by faculty and peers for your hard work and dedication to the Enterprise Risk Management program.
