Gastronomy Student Wins at Future of Food and Nutrition Conference
Jared Kaufman, a student in the MET Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy program, was named the winner of Best Poster at the Tufts Future of Food and Nutrition Conference earlier this month. Entitled “Dumb it Down for Kids: How Restaurants in the Greater Boston Area Use Kids’ Menus to Construct Childhood taste,” Kaufman presented research conducted over the fall semester during his Sociology of Taste (MET ML 610) course, interrogating the language and meaning of children’s menus with an interactive selection of paper menus. The award was voted on by conference attendees.
