James Klein

CAS’27 Political Science, French Studies

Hi! My name is James Klein (he/him), and I’m a member of the Class of 2027. I’m double-majoring in Political Science and French Studies, with a minor in Business Administration & Management. I’m originally from Clinton, a small town in upstate New York. Adjusting to such a large city and campus was a challenge, but Kilachand quickly became a source of support.

Kilachand has provided a strong sense of community on such a large campus. Whether it’s meeting friends in Kilachand Hall, attending engaging co-curricular events, or taking exclusive seminars with renowned professors, being part of Kilachand has been an incredible experience.

On campus, I’ve been involved in WTBU Radio (BU’s student-run radio station), the Music Business Club, BarMUN (BU’s collegiate Model UN conference), Pioneer Impact Consulting (which provides consulting services for immigrant-owned businesses), and the All Campus Orchestra. I’m also working on a startup with some friends!

I’ve worked with Boston University Orientation as a Senior Orientation Leader, helping to plan and execute BU’s first-year orientation program. Additionally, I’ve held a work-study position with Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, assisting local youth with rehearsals and performances. I’ve also completed internships in the business and music industries, so please feel free to ask any questions about working on campus or interning.

I also studied abroad in Paris, France, through BU’s Spring 2026 French Language Internship Program. I took classes with French professors and interned at a nonprofit organization in Paris. The experience was incredible, and I’d be happy to share more if you have any questions!

Outside of academics, I’m passionate about music, whether it’s playing the electric and double bass, collecting records, DJing, or discovering new artists. I’m also passionate about community service and social justice, and I enjoy analyzing complex problems and developing solutions, something I’ve had the opportunity to explore through Kilachand.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions about Kilachand or BU. I’d love to chat and share my experiences. Looking forward to meeting you all!
