James Klein

CAS’27 Undeclared

Hi! My name is James Klein (he/him), and I’m a member of the Class of 2027. I’m currently undeclared but plan to major in Political Science or International Relations, with minors in Business Administration & Management and French Studies. I’m originally from Clinton, a small town in upstate New York. Adjusting to such a large city and campus was a challenge, but Kilichand quickly became a source of support.

Kilachand has provided a strong sense of community on such a large campus. Whether it’s meeting friends in Kilachand Hall, attending interesting co-curricular events, or taking exclusive seminars with renowned professors, being part of Kilachand has been an incredible experience.

On campus, I’ve been involved in WTBU Radio (BU’s student-run radio station), the Music Business Club, Pioneer Impact Consulting (providing consulting services for immigrant-owned businesses), and the All Campus Orchestra. I’m also working on a startup with some friends!

I work with Boston University Orientation as a Program Coordinator II, where I help plan and execute BU’s first-year orientation program. Additionally, I’ve held a work-study position with Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, assisting local youth with rehearsals and performances. Last summer, I interned with the Levitt AMP Concert Series, helping facilitate free weekly concerts in Utica, NY.

Outside of academics, I’m passionate about music, whether it’s playing the electric and double bass, collecting records, DJing, or discovering new artists. I’m also passionate about community service and social justice and love analyzing complex problems and coming up with solutions, something I’ve had the opportunity to explore through Kilachand.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions about Kilachand or BU. I’d love to chat and share my experiences! Looking forward to meeting you all.
